US Space Force Cis-lunar Highway Patrol System to patrol around the moon | Phy.Org

The newly founded United States Space Force has revealed intentions to establish CHPS or the Cis-lunar Highway Patrol System.

We’ll need a mechanism to monitor space trash and the expanding number of missions orbiting the moon and beyond as human activity expands outward into the solar system. The newly founded United States Space Force has revealed intentions to establish CHPS or the Cis-lunar Highway Patrol System. CHPS will give a serious study into space traffic farther out in orbit around the Earth-moon system, despite its name harkening back to a certain corny TV series from the 1970s. Private enterprises and space organizations are expected to return to the moon in large numbers in the following decade, necessitating the creation of such a network. The issue was recently exposed when a rocket booster collided with the moon on March 4. Despite being far from unique, this was one of the first “lost items” to be found just before impact.

THE ROBOT THAT CAN EXPRESS EMOTIONS WHILE READING | Analytics Insight

The researchers used several sorts of communications to evaluate 94 participants. OMOY was proven to be effective in reducing negative feelings, according to the researchers.

Robots can now feel, be wounded, and display emotions thanks to recent technological advancements. While robots respect emotional expressiveness, they are also entrusted with recognizing human emotions and communicating signals to users appropriately. OMOY, a newly designed robot, is capable of comprehending the sender’s sentiments and relaying them to the intended receiver. The University of Tsukuba researchers created this portable robot with a moveable weight that is controlled by mechanical components within the body. The robot may portray synthetic emotions by altering its internal weight. The robot was created to act as a translator for text messages, and it may be particularly useful when the language is uninviting or aggravating. So that the receiver of the communication does not get unhappy after receiving the news, OMOY includes a word of encouragement and advice.

AI confirms the obvious: The pandemic bummed people out | Popular Science

Scientists created a mood ring for the internet using machine learning, and it revealed how depressed the world was during the outset of the epidemic.

Researchers use mood as a unique tool to assess the effect of natural and man-made catastrophes on humans. However, in the aftermath of a major incident, it’s just impracticable to ask every single individual on the planet how they’re feeling. Scientists from MIT, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Max Planck Institute for Human Development devised a solution. They employed machine learning methods to monitor social media for mood changes after the initial wave of COVID-19 in 100 different nations, allowing them to gather real-time readings on how pleased or upset the pandemic’s occurrences made individuals all across the globe. Consider it as an AI-powered mood ring, but for millions of people. Their results were published in the journal Nature Human Behavior only last week.

Tech giants built digital dragnets to stop Russian propaganda—here’s how it still seeps through | Daily Dot

Despite best efforts by tech giants, no clampdown can fully achieve its purpose when up against the sheer volume of people on the internet.

The kremlin is using its skill at creating and delivering propaganda and false information online, using the swaths of far-right conspiracy theorist, and communist sympathizers to spread and parrot its disinformation.

The posts on these platforms repeat false information, such as Russia’s claim that its bombing of a Ukrainian maternity hospital was actually staged, that it invaded to liberate Ukraine, or that the nation—led by a Jewish descendant of Holocaust survivors—has descended into neo-Nazism.

Amazon delivery drones keep crashing | Knowtechie

According to federal accident records and internal papers acquired by Business Insider, Amazon drones have crashed eight times in 13 months. Last June, one of those drone accidents prevented an acres-wide brush fire from crashing to the ground after falling 160 feet. Last year, the business completed almost 2,300 drone test flights. According to Amazon, the incidents were not related to customer deliveries but rather to experimental test flights.
