Gaming is antitrust regulators’ blind spot | Axios

The biggest video gaming corporations are devouring the competition at a quicker rate than ever before, despite facing no opposition from antitrust regulators. Gaming has developed into one of the world’s largest media businesses, but it has yet to receive the same kind of scrutiny that other digital industries do when it comes to how their business methods influence competitors, customers, or employees. Since the start of 2022, there have been two of the biggest video game purchases in history, and 2021 witnessed over 250 gaming deals for over $38 billion. Regulators, lawmakers, and activist organizations often stymie deals in Big Tech and the media. Despite the fact that gaming industry behemoths may have unrestricted access to closing deals. They’re still keeping a tight check on their security guards.
