According to the U.S. Space Command, Russia has launched a new anti-satellite test last Dec. 15 U.S. time (Dec. 16 in Russia), a kinetic weapon capable of destroying satellites low Earth orbit. This aggressive move violates space security norms and is viewed as a threat to the U.S. and allied space systems, as SPACECOM boss Gen. James H. Dickinson said. In recent years, Russia has completed different tests, including a non-destructive test of a space-based anti-satellite weapon last July.
