Artoo, take the wheel: U-2 spy plane flies for the first time with an AI co-pilot | Defense News

For the first time, Artoo, U.S. Airforce’s artificial intelligence system, co-piloted a Lockheed Martin U-2 last December 15. The AI system was given control over the spy plane’s sensor systems and radar, specifically in finding enemy aircraft. Artoo is created based on a gaming logarithm called µZero, which is the same logarithm used to beat human players in chess and Go.
