Elon Musk unveils SpaceX’s newest drone ship for rocket landings at sea | Space.com

SpaceX’s drone fleet for catching falling missiles now has a new unmanned ship, dubbed “A Shortfall of Gravitas.” Elon Musk, the company’s founder, shared a clip of the new floating rocket landing pad on Twitter on Friday (July 9), coupled with stunning footage of a flying drone surrounding the vessel. The new ship will be stationed in Florida to assist Falcon Heavy and SpaceX’s main rocket, the Falcon 9, which is frequently used to carry Starlink broadband satellites into space as well as NASA astronauts and supplies to the International Space Station, among other client needs. The long-running “Of Course I Still Love You” drone ship will be replaced by “A Shortfall of Gravitas.”
