When it comes to airspace, both hobbyist and commercial drone operations are becoming increasingly complicated. As a result, airline pilots are becoming increasingly risky, particularly near large airports. Rick Zelenka, a private pilot, has spent several years improving his drone radar technology in order to address this issue. Zelenka was awarded a NASA contract to build a lightweight radar system that can be placed in planes. The prototype was recently put to the test at Hudson, Colorado’s Platte Valley Airport. Randy Settergren, a seasoned pilot, was in command.
