Bill To Abolish U.S. Space Force Introduced By North Bay Rep. Jared Huffman | CBS SF Bay Area

A North Bay congressman has launched legislation to defund the United States Space Force a day after the military’s newest branch presented new uniform designs. As Congress prepares to enact the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the annual bill that authorizes funds for the Pentagon, Rep. Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael) presented the No Militarization of Space Act. In 2019, former President Donald Trump founded the Space Force, the country’s newest military service and the first since the United States Air Force was established in 1947. The need for building space policy and doctrine, as well as the existence of anti-satellite threats from China and Russia, were cited by supporters of the move.
