Delay hits production decision for US Army’s critical battle command system | Defense News

With a total of $2.7 billion spent, The US Army has just hit another production decision resulting to a critical delay in the development of the command-and-control system for Integrated Air and Missile Defense System. Originally meant to serve against regional ballistic missile threats, the service has since expanded its planned role tying together a much broader array of capabilities in defeating other complex threats. In 2016, the program experienced a string of problems and struggled with limited-user test and several soldier checkouts.  Expectations continue to run high amid all these constraints.
