First Class Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy (USNA) can now delve deeper into the Information Warfare (IW) Community before the service selection week when they will file for their desired designator after commencement. Midshipmen used to complete their summer training on a vessel, an airplane, a submarine, or a supply corps command. With the launch of the IW Community Cruise this summer, all of that changed. Future IW officers will be better prepared as they move through their academic training and ultimately join the fleet if an IW Community Cruise is provided.
