Scientists from the University of Bristol’s Quantum Engineering Technology Labs have been developing an algorithm that will shed light on the physics underlying quantum systems. This will open new doors for advances in quantum computation and sensing. Bristol’s QET Labs states that they were able to use an autonomous agent using machine learning to to reverse engineer Hamiltonian models. They were also able to test the algorithm using defect centres in a diamond.
The US space force is currently preparing to launch the fifth Lockheed Martin-built GPS III SV05 this June 2021. GPS III SV05 will be integrated horizontally with the first-ever SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle as well. The satellite has been shipped to Cape Canaveral, where the launching will happen. GPS III SV05 will be the 24th satellite in the 31 GPS-satellite constellations once successfully launched.
BOBbots, or “behaving, organizing, buzzing bots,” is a set of simple robots that can accomplish tasks well beyond the capabilities of one, or even a few, of them. The robots were created by researchers from the Georgia Institute of Technology. According to the researchers, they have removed all sensors, communication, memory, and computation of the robots, which leaves them only with their physical characteristics in order to accomplish certain tasks.
In an announcement made today, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc., a leading National Security Solutions provider, has successfully exhibited an integrated SATCOM capability to an operationally secure environment for the very first time. The demonstration has provided real-time Situational Awareness (SA) and has included roaming among different networks to optimize wideband satellite communications (SATCOM). The exhibit was hosted by the US European Command, US Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa, and the Department of the Air Force Chief Architect Office.
From a 360Hz refresh rate, Acer has just launched a new gaming monitor that can reach a 390Hz refresh rate. XV252Q F, Acer’s newest gaming monitor, has a 25-inch AUO AHVA (IPS-like) panel that supports Adaptive-Sync. It has a 0.5ms G2G response time and also comes with a VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, which means that users can play games or playback videos with HDR enabled. The unit can be tilted, swiveled, pivoted, and adjusted as well.
