Machine learning algorithm helps unravel the physics underlying quantum systems | Phys.org

Scientists from the University of Bristol’s Quantum Engineering Technology Labs have been developing an algorithm that will shed light on the physics underlying quantum systems. This will open new doors for advances in quantum computation and sensing. Bristol’s QET Labs states that they were able to use an autonomous agent using machine learning to to reverse engineer Hamiltonian models. They were also able to test the algorithm using defect centres in a diamond.

Simple robots, smart algorithms | Tech Xplore

BOBbots, or “behaving, organizing, buzzing bots,” is a set of simple robots that can accomplish tasks well beyond the capabilities of one, or even a few, of them. The robots were created by researchers from the Georgia Institute of Technology. According to the researchers, they have removed all sensors, communication, memory, and computation of the robots, which leaves them only with their physical characteristics in order to accomplish certain tasks.
