New machine learning workflows for better prediction of psychosis | Medical News

Scientist Nikolaos Koutsouleris has spearheaded a study that combines psychiatric assessments with machine-learning models that analyze clinical and biological data. He claims that algorithmic pattern recognition can make very accurate predictions about positive disease outcomes. Results of this recent study from the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry has shown that it is the combination of artificial and human intelligence that optimizes the prediction of mental illness which practitioners can identify at an early stage.

Watch a self-driving Roborace car drive directly into a wall | EN Gadget

AI or not, it is no more than a little amusing to watch a robotic car make an unforced error of wrecking walls on a racetrack. On a recent unmanned test, a self-driving Roborace car illustrates the challenges of putting AI on a real racing circuit, and fails miserably. Unlike road-oriented driverless cars, racers have to routinely navigate at high speeds where there’s less time to make decisions and react to hazards.
