Following the SolarWinds breach, the Department of Defense needs to be on red alert. Establishing the goal of the intrusion as purely espionage, the access could have also been easily used for disruption. An attack that could be strategically timed with a significant event that can cripple the DoD’s ability to send emails or other functions. A far too significant handicap that affords hackers the opportunity to learn about more about the decisions made within the U.S. government and what is important to leaders.
