The Marine Corps Just Got Its First Live-Fire Range Designed for Robotic Targets | Military.com

Range Golf-36 aboard Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, is now dubbed as the “range of the future.” Designed for company-size live-fire exercises and explicitly intended to incorporate lifelike robotic targets, the range also features targets in areas obstructed by terrain features such as trees and grass tufts, designed to be destroyed by rockets. The high efficiency range is expected to become the final event in 2nd Marine Division’s Marine Corps Combat Readiness Evaluation, for soon-to-deploy troops.

Reported Russian hack of US systems has implications for DoD network security plans | C4ISRNET

Following the SolarWinds breach, the Department of Defense needs to be on red alert. Establishing the goal of the intrusion as purely espionage, the access could have also been easily used for disruption. An attack that could be strategically timed with a significant event that can cripple the DoD’s ability to send emails or other functions. A far too significant handicap that affords hackers the opportunity to learn about more about the decisions made within the U.S. government and what is important to leaders.
