IBM’s new tool lets developers add quantum-computing power to machine learning | ZDNet

Intending to allow developers to leverage quantum computers’ capabilities to improve the quality of their machine-learning models, IBM has released a new model known as the Qiskit Machine Learning. Qiskit Machine Learning is a part of IBM’s open-source quantum software development kit that uses computational building blocks to bring machine-learning models into the quantum space. One of the Qiskit Machine Learning features its ability to produce QuantumKernel, a tool that computes kernel matrices for a given dataset into a quantum framework.

America and its military need a blockchain strategy | C4ISRNET

For the first time, China has included blockchain technology in its five-year social and economic development plan. Specifically, the country will be using blockchain technology applications in supply chain management, e-governance and fintech, and so much more. It is also expected that blockchain technology will give the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) a competitive edge in weapons lifecycle, information warfare, intelligence, and personnel management. China’s move has positioned Beijing as a leader in this foundational technology at the expense of U.S. national security, which means that the U.S. must leverage blockchain’s inherent advantages to reverse this trend.

Defense Intelligence Agency continues progress on MARS database | C4ISRNET

The Defense Intelligence Agency has recently reached another milestone for successfully releasing its second minimum viable product, Machine-Assisted Analytic Rapid-Respiratory System’s (MARS) order-of-battle capability. MARS is capable of processing large amounts of data collected by the intelligence community. It uses cloud processing and machine learning to analyze all the data it has collected. Last year, MARS released its first minimum viable product, which was focused on infrastructure.
