Could Dyson Finally Bring Household Robots to the Masses? | Make Use Of

Dyson is hiring more engineers to develop a robot to assist with household chores.

The business behind the Dyson brand intends to develop home robots that are superior to humans at doing domestic activities. The company employed 1,000 engineers, scientists, and programmers in 2022 and anticipates adding at least 950 robotics professionals over the next five years. One of its robots can be seen in the video above cleaning an armchair, while another handles dishes in the kitchen and picks up a stuffed animal off the floor. A robot with several functions is the holy grail of robotics.

It is unknown if Dyson intends to use its engineers to develop a succession of specialist robots or a general-purpose robot due to its extreme secrecy. Nevertheless, based on its primary focus on machine learning and Artificial Intelligence, we predict that Dyson will develop robots capable of performing a restricted range of activities.

Space Force Special Operations Rocked By Allegations Of Misconduct | Coffee or Die

The Space Ranger Selection and Evaluation Program are doing damage control. A cadre member of the Space Ranger Selection and Assessment Program is accused of intentionally injuring a candidate for special operations. Staff Sgt. Sidney “Sid” Phillips reportedly pushed a candidate from a 60-foot rappel tower before securing him properly.

While falling, the applicant managed to take hold of the rope to avoid severe damage—staff Sgt. Sidney “Sid” Phillips was moved from the U.S. Army to the Space Force after publishing photographs reportedly documenting his mistreatment of an infantryman and a cavalry trooper.

Phillips refutes these allegations, and no official complaints have ever been lodged. The identity of all parties is disguised, awaiting an inquiry.
