Merging technologies with color to avoid design failures | Techxplore

In a study published in the Journal of Computational Materials Science, researchers from the Penn state have found out that using machine learning and image colorization algorithms makes it faster to evaluate products and predict failures, that can prevent design failures. In the experiment, the group added machine learning algorithms to reduce using computationally demanding finite element analysis (FEA). FEA can predict crack, impact and crash events with material failure. It affects the dynamics, controls and joint behavior of a product as well.
