If you fly a drone, you need to read this now | ZDNet

If you fly a drone like the DJI Air 2S or Mini 2 in the United States, there are new rules to be mindful of, as well as a safety training and testing process to undertake. On June 22, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) revealed that 16 groups had been permitted to conduct the Recreational Unmanned Aircraft Systems Safety Test (TRUST). The assessment is divided into four sections, each of which includes a comprehensive training instruction on drone safety and legality, as well as some multiple-choice questions to evaluate your comprehension. It should take you no more than 30 minutes to complete the procedure. You will only have to pass the tests once, and the qualification will not expire; however, if you lose your certification, you will have to take the exam again.

US-UK warn of new worldwide Russian cyberespionage | Breaking Defense

According to the US and UK governments, Russia is pursuing a cyberwarfare effort targeting “dozens of associations” around the globe, with an emphasis on US and European governments, militaries, and defense contractors. The Department of Defense is listed as a potential subject in the advice. The effort is attributed to the Russian General Staff’s Main Intelligence Directorate’s 85th Main Special Service Center, military unit 26165, according to the advice. The GRU is not to be confused with the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, which the US government claimed was responsible for the SolarWinds cyberespionage effort.

US government watchdog finds federal use of artificial intelligence poses threat to federal agencies and public | Jurist

Most government agencies that utilize facial recognition technology systems are clueless of the “privacy and accuracy-related dangers” that such technologies pose to agencies and the American public, according to a public report released Tuesday by the US Government Accountability Office (GAO).
