Looking to buy a drone this holiday? These are the FAA operating rules, regulations | Fox Business

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is encouraging pilots to follow the FAA Drone Zone social media channels for the next 12 days to learn how to fly a drone correctly. The “12 Days of Drones” educational campaign of the organization begins on December 1. The organization will release thorough details about owning a drone, from correctly registering it to test procedures for leisure fliers to airspace limits, over the course of the next 12 days. The content will be shared on Twitter and Facebook, with each day devoted to a different theme. The agency did, however, release a new video on its YouTube page that summarizes the rules and restrictions for operating a drone. Pilots are instructed to register their drones online at faadronezone.faa.gov in the video. Drone registration costs $5 and is valid for three years. The FAA-issued registration number must be displayed on the outside of the drone once it has been registered, according to the video.

Finding Your Niche in Cybersecurity | Dark Reading

Finding out the sector of cybersecurity you’re most passionate in is one of the most difficult aspects of switching to a new position in cybersecurity. Responsibilities have historically been divided into two “teams”: red and blue. Red teams are in charge of aggressive defense, which entails “attacking” a company using pen testing or social engineering to identify flaws. Defensive security, which encompasses incident management, computer forensics, and advanced threat, is the responsibility of blue teams. New team names have recently been introduced to identify role overlaps (for example, “purple” teams that handle both offensive and defensive security duties). You may learn more about the cybersecurity “color wheel” and what these positions include by looking at summaries online, such as Hackernoon’s.

Scientists made tiny xenobots out of frog cells. Now they say those robots can reproduce. | USA Today

A group of scientists from the University of Vermont, Tufts University, and Harvard University used stem cells from African clawed frog embryos to create small living beings known as xenobots in January 2020. The xenobots, which are less than 0.04 inches across, can navigate on their own, connect with one another, and repair themselves from injuries, making them the world’s first living robots. However, after more than a year, the computer-created creatures have started to do “something that’s never been seen before.” The xenobots would wander about their environment looking for solitary cells, according to the experts.
